I also notice when I fill up the tank the car shakes and hesitates to turn on. The connector was repaired under warranty without a repeat since. Changed them myself, it was pretty easy. Intake manifold had to be replaced. Went to Auto Zone before check engine light came in steady and they checked for codes--but there were none! Fortunately, the thermostat is easy to test. This air dissipates heat from the coolant before it returns to the engine. I had noted a decrease in the engine coolant level, but no pooling under the car. That's well outside what lack of maintenance can cause.
The oil pan gasket was replaced to resolve the issue. Scheduled a trip to the dealer and informed them I was clearing the code as I needed the car in the week in between scheduling and visit. This is something that was replaced about 60k miles ago as well. Dealer determined catalyic converter needed replacing. Sometimes the dealer tops off coolant, other times I have. Water pump went out again! Codes revealed system that failed. Replaced the entire turbo assembly. Visually inspected myself determined to most likely be from water pump. This time hoses wore out plus a plastic water outlet cracked.
Dealership diagnosis confirmed it and replaced the cam cover under warramty. Car continues to do this occasionally. I still have the same issue occasionally. Just be aware that it may take the engine several cycles clear the code. Most modern vehicles use electric fans.
Dec 8, 2016 by 10. The technician diagnosed that the turbocharger had failed. I still have concerns due to a strong coolant smell from under hood after normal operation. If the car has learned to remove 10% fuel to compensate for a very dirty filter, which won't happen anyway but hypothetically, when you remove it the car will just learn back to 0%. Check Engine came up again with the same code after clearing original. Coolant leak 41935 km Check engine light came on due to loose gas cap.
Dealer replaced housing and 1 hose under power train warranty, but charged me for a 2nd hose, clamps, and shop time. Air passes over the heater core and into the engine compartment to keep it warm.
