I admit there's mystery, but not in a good way. And the final cherry on this s! The first half of the film is far superior to the second, as Roth takes his time and keeps us guessing as to who these girls really are and what might happen. This is where the funny part is, people start commenting about how sick it is that he posted that and he pulls his arm out of the dirt to try to press delete crazy because the 'delete' and 'like' buttons are right next to each other and he accidentally clicks like, to which he then lets out an angry yell. I knew this man can deal with human nature. Trust me, Knock Knock is one you don't want to watch.
I found parts of this movie very difficult to understand and follow, so that I eventually lost interest completely. After spending a Saturday night watching a film I've been looking forward to see since I first saw the trailer, honestly I feel robbed of an hour and a half I'll never get back. I think I had confused him with a hybrid of Tim Roth and possibly Elijah Wood? Once that is out of the way, the film offers nothing new or insightful. When his family goes on holiday without him due to Evan having to catch up on work , he's greeted by two young women named Bel and Genesis on his doorstep who ask for shelter from the rain. Maybe it's his monotone voice or the deadness behind his eyes, but it doesn't always come off well. Unfortunately the seduction felt forced and the mental instability of the girls completely unbelievable.
The film revolves around Evan Webber, an architect married to a successful artist with two children living an idyllic life. Considering that the girls decided to spare Evan, odds are he is in more than the perfect position to set things straight. Keanu Reeves is the only reason this movie is not going to get the same rating all his other trash movies got. Further, the girls would have been too deep in the hole working and distracted, and that ridiculous cord tie up job could have been quickly worked loose with any adrenaline fueled effort while they were toiling away. The dialogue could sound outlandish and childish if read in a different context, but Izzo and de Armas pull it all off with a straight face and their character's intentions progress to the downright sinister. Keanu had chances to kick back but instead gets hit by a fork by a teenage girl and gets tied up and that's so ridiculous and finally when you expect some twist you will find that both the girls will bury the so called matrix hero called Keanu Reeves in his own backyard unto his neck and there ends the movie all of sudden.
But this definitely wasn't it. I hated this film, because it made me cringe. This is 99 minutes of pure hell as a viewer. But he makes his point far clearer in the notes than he does in the movie itself. No neighbors in that area.
He gets a surprise one night when two young women, Genesis Lorenza Izzo and Bell Ana de Armas knock on his door, claiming to have broken down and in need of a shower and a taxi. This is the first review of a movie I've ever written and I wouldn't usually do this, but felt the need to advise people to steer clear of this movie. Basically a remake, almost shot for shot, of Death Game from the mid 70s. I follow his work since then. And so ends my review of this diabolically bad film. I don't know what Keanu Reeves was thinking when he agreed to star in this movie but after the incredible John Wick I thought he was getting his career back on track after a run of disastrous movies but I guess not. They overstay their welcome and claim they're underage so that Evan won't call the police, which is completely dropped 4 minutes later when he actually does call the police and one of the girls hangs up his phone and just asks for a ride home.
Almost ten years later and we have not one, but two feature films from Roth. Overall: Not as bad as most of the other 261 reviews might want you to believe. The two actresses who were its stars, and , get producing credit here while Camp appears in a brief supporting role as a nosy friend. The girls sure know how to seduce a man. Instead, he aims to disturb us on a deeper level: He wants to hit us where we live. First and foremost, Genesis and Bel are far from being femme fatales. They made great money off their last tours, and allowed it to be used to close that all time classic Fight Club.
All team of this movie are sick. The 2 women are serving as producers in the 2015 version while Colleen Camp also stars in a minor role. It plays out like a cross between No Good Deed and The Loved Ones. It was forced, amateur, risible. Chilean actress Ignacia Allamand also joined the film.
So when I got home and popped it in my player after the first ten minutes I knew this film was going to go downhill and had no end in sight. There should be a penalty charged to director and script writer of this movie. At the time the film was made, Izzo was 25 and de Armas 26. He just doesn't seem natural at all. That would be the suggested ending, won't it. Sondra Locke, Colleen Camp and Seymour Cassel star. So, with that extremely subtle set up, Keanu is left home alone when his family goes on a trip without him for some reason , and the movie actually starts.
I really wanted the girls to be dealt with and I really hate that they just walked away. I'm no film buff, but I watch enough of them. Knock Knock is a 2015 horror film by starring , Lorenza Izzo, and. I did however quite like the Boston Terrier playing the role of the family pet, 'Monkey', and I feel like he did his best to carry this stinker, but with limited screen time there was only so much he could do. However I found the movie to be utterly bizarre and ridiculous and struggled to sit through the whole movie and resist the urge to leave. Maybe we have used to see him as a hero from the Matrix to John Wick and we cannot accept to watch him being lame and weak. If you want to watch an adult movie in the cinema go see Mad Max: Fury Road.
